Edinburgh

After too many days packing and traveling, Mom and I have finally arrived in Scotland.  The constant busy we ran before we left, mixed with some free drinks on the plane and a good case of jet lag, meant we slept a good portion of the day away when we arrived.  We are finally starting to feel relaxed and rested and went on a New Sandman's Free Tour of Edinburgh.  It was fantastic and I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.  We got a good deal of history, a little pop culture (Yay for Harry Potter geekness being satisfied), and a nice (if not cold) walk around where we are staying.  By the way, my Mom found a great flat for us to use while in Edinburgh; it is in the Grassmarket area of town, and just a quick walk to almost everything.  The Edinburgh Castle is just a few minutes up the stairs from us and just below us is a whole street of restaurants and pubs.

After the tour we had dinner at Maggie Dicksons' pub, which was excellent and just what we needed.  Sausage, mash, and a beer for me (the same with a Bailey's latte for Mom) and now we are happy, full, and tired.  Please enjoy some photos from our tour today.  Tomorrow we are going to venture outside of the city center and hit Costco and IKEA. :-)

Cheers to everyone back home.
